As women, we need to understand our super anatomy so we can look after it better. Everyone thinks of Lomilomi as super-relaxing (and it is) but itʻs whatʻs inside all that relaxing that really counts. Thereʻs much more to Lomilomi that Practitioners have to know a thing or two about...

...so because itʻs the Holiday season, letʻs talk ADRENALS. All through the year these guys are really pumping and during the Summer Holiday Season they’re also under pressure to perform keeping up with parties, gatherings and all sorts of festivities. But how are they vital to your health? Here's a few things for your essentials list:

Now - youʻve got two of ʻem, so thatʻs a good thing to know, and theyʻre perched at the top of your kidneys (also good to know - and if youʻre thinkinʻ "where the hell are my kidneys?", ask Google to show you...)

Your Adrenal Glands (Adrenals for short) are part of your Endocrine System - a superior Networker of sorts, carrying carrying chemical messages to keep you tip top. Messages to help your stress resilience and keep your hormones balanced.

But if we donʻt look after our bods, things can go pear-shaped: weʻre not as resilient, we donʻt bounce back as quickly or we can lose our bounce completely; we get tired, moody, our immune system, sleep cycles, weight, blood pressure - all go whacko!

That’s why you’ve really got to give these hard-working guys in the engine room so love. What you do helps them to help you. Wellness, for the most part, is all about balance. Too much either way and we’re likely to be slingshotted off the see-saw. We want everything staying in harmony so it functions efficiently which means we function efficiently.

If you feel out of balance, you probably are. And that means you’ve got to sit down and take a close-up look at your life. Make a list of priorities without thinking about it too much - just grab a paper and pen or your device and let it roll on out. When you’re emptied, zero on. Be honest. We are you in all of this? Is your wellbeing up the top, or at least in the top 3? Yes - good job, keep up the good work. If it’s NOPE in captials, then it’s time for some adjustments.

Adjustments don’t have to be radical but they do have to be meaningful enough to bring your body back into balance. You’ve got to show it a little bit of TLC if you want it to keep doing it’s thing without nasties happening sometime in the future. What you do now is important. You just can’t be too busy for you…

Body Love Balance might look like:

÷ Taking all-round better care of yourself, thatʻs really the key to the door

÷ Balance your diet and include enough protein - don’t skimp on it

÷ Balance your exercise with your work-cise

÷ Maybe visit your Herbalist for some Vitamin B, C, D, Magnesium, Zinc

÷ And, of course, prioritising yourself - which is where Lomilomi comes into its own. It’s a no-brainer way to give yourself time off and time out to do nothing but receive all the goodness you’ve been craving.
