Hula is a dance of unconditional love; we dance for the Ancestors; for our healing; for the healing of the earth; we dance for our Oneness; we dance for our Mana - spirit energy; we dance the stories of our Ancient Past; we dance the memory of our earth and we become part of the earth's memory; as we dance her stories we take forward coded sacred information for our humanity and our place within the Universe…

Supercharge your Spirit Power in this 1 DAY RETREAT WORKSHOP...and it's right on your doorstep: 30 mins from the City & Hornsby, 45 minutes from Parramatta in a quirky 1930's school house surrounded by Nature and country feels...

Hula introduces you to the profound spirituality and traditional teachings of the Kanaka Maoli – the First Hawaiians. You can learn how live these sacred teachings in your life to bring lasting healing, happiness and well-being. For 50+ Generations we have lived these teachings and we share them with you in this workshop.

We are taught to live our lives with Aloha Kekahi i Kekahi, complete & unconditional love for all things in this Universe, with the understanding that the Ancestors are always looking for opportunities to teach and guide us. Hula is one of those opportunities where you have direct experience of the Ancestors.

If you really want to live with the presence of the Ancestors, heal your life, and let the passion of your Spirit guide you, don’t miss this Workshop. It's always popular and this year we'll be continuing it every 2nd Month under the Full Moon or New Moon.

Who dances Hula? Hula is for women and men. Because these workshops are under the soon to be completed SOHAD - School of the Ancestors, they’re for both men and women. So ladies, you can bring your partners and male besties. Same sex couples are warmly welcomed.

Do I have to be fit? No, but you will become fit and strong. One way Hula is used is to rehab stiff joints and muscles, as well as to create flexible and fluid bodies that move with the movement of the Universe. Hula powers up your vitality and life force, so if you’ve been feeling sluggish, book your spot: https://bit.ly/30ZAFvr takes you to the booking page

Do I have to be young? No, one of our beloved Kumu Hula Aunty Kauila Reyes danced until her death at 93 (so perhaps Hula also increases your longevity…)

Can I do it for fun? Absolutely, Hawaiians are known the world over for their easy nature and happiness. You can Hula at whatever level it takes you too. And, if you visit Hawaii, you’ll be able to join in and understand what the dancers are doing. We know not everyone is interested in the Spiritual or Cultural depths of Hula - you will learn about them because that’s how we teach. But how far you go is up to you - keeping it light and social is perfectly OK.

Is it free-form or structured? Both - but we teach a structured form so you learn all the basic steps and how to really dance Hula. When you truly come to understand Hula and it’s form, then you will understand the “free-form” element of Hula. As you learn Hula, you learn to move your consciousness through space and time and your physical body follows. And it’s like any dance, watch Hawaiians when they get together and they’ll jump up and do their own steps to a song, not everyone knows everyone else’s steps. That’s how it’s done - so you can go crazy around your loungeroom.

So I have to be co-ordinated or good at dancing? No, that’s why we take the time to teach you the basic steps, put them into a dance, teach you the dance steps and how to move within Hula - read that again, move within Hula. That tells you there’s movement within movment and it’s not about being a good mover or dancer. We have two Facilitators - so you get plenty of 1:1 time. You will learn to Hula by the end of this workshop.

Will I only learn Hula Dancing? No, you’ll learn completely about Hula and in your workshop you’ll participate in Hula Ceremony and Protocol so you really get what Hula’s about. The Dance is only one aspect of Hula. Hula is deeply spiritual. It tells stories and within those stories are codes for life - you just have to learn how to understand them. Because we are one of the oldest teaching Halau’s (schools) in Hawaii, we teach you ALL about Hula - we want you to know the ins and outs of it, not just the dance aspect. And when you learn that, you learn how you can freely move your consciousness, your spirit into spiritual spaces that open up communication with all things in this Universe and a way of accessing connection to Source Energy, the Ancestors and Healing that you haven’t experienced before.

In this workshop you can participate in Ceremony, learn chants, learn steps, learn Hula and learn about the heartbeat of Hawaiian Culture. All you have to do is grab your spot by hititng this quick link to go to the booking page: https://bit.ly/30ZAFvr
